Prepare Your Downey Apartment for Halloween

Prepare for Halloween

Halloween is quickly approaching so it makes sense that now is the time to prepare your Downey apartment for the occasion.

Glitter Pumpkins

If you’re interested in carving a pumpkin this year but still want to decorate one, try creating a glitter pumpkin. You can draw various Halloween characters such as a spider, ghost, or even write the words boo! Feel free to get creative.

Haunted Cookie Jar

This easy project will make it appear as though a small ghost is magically hovering inside a glass jar! This is a great DIY to try with kids or if you are looking to make your house guests take a second look. For instructions, click here.

Spooky Bottles

Here is something to do with empty wine bottles. Purchase some black matte spray paint or regular paint, and put at least 3 coats of paint to cover any signs of the wine bottle. Add a label on it and write anything that is Halloween related.

How to Pack for Your Summer Vacation

Getting ready to leave for your family vacation? Not before you ready these packing tips!

While folding may not sound ideal, take the time to do it properly. You’ll save space by packing your outfits neatly together and you won’t have to waste time by ironing out those wrinkles once you’ve arrived.

Use your shoes! They have their own built in packing space and can be used to store socks, underwear, chargers, and other small items that would otherwise float around.

On the bottom of your suitcase you should place your heavier items such as jeans and shoes. Try to make each level as flat as possible. Then arrange smaller items like electronics, jewelry, toiletries, etc. Finally, any items that you may need to reach easily, place near the surface.

For other miscellaneous items, you can decide to leave the sunscreen and shampoo at home, and pick them up once you arrive to your destination. This is especially helpful if you’re flying and you’re taking a carry-on.
