Participate in SoCal Dance and Choreography Festival on July 29th 7.30PM. If you want to learn some new and innovative steps in classical ballet, modern dance or contemporary lyrical, this is the place you need to be. Budding choreographers will give live and promising demonstrations at Downey Civic Theater. Tickets are priced between $16-$20.

Independence day Destinations in Downey

Salute the war heroes and honor their devotion for our nation’s Independence. An evening filled with family activities, an eye-catching firework show, food vendors, giveaways and music is dedicated to this day.

Downey High School Stadium is hosting a Freedom Firework Show on July 4th 9PM-11PM. This free event is open to public. Pets, alcohol or personal fireworks are not permitted here. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and food and enjoy the glaring show of lights.

Don’t miss the summer concerts taking place all over Downey. Relax and have fun with your buddies as 3rd Marine Aircraft rocks Downey with their patriotic tunes on the eve of Independence day. Visit Furman Park for broadway show tunes, movie film scores and contemporary hits on July 12th 7PM.

Bilingual Story Time is an exciting activity happening every Wednesday morning 10.30AM-11.30AM. Enjoy stories, songs, dance and play in English and Spanish at Downey City Library.
